The nature of Methodism is itenerantsy of the clergy. June is the month of movement when pastors are shifted from one congregation to another. I was contacted by a small UMC who’s pastor was being moved. They wanted to give him a special gift that reflected the impact of his ministry with them. They felt his leadership came from such a loving place that the theme “Rooted In Love” was chosen. I was given free artistic reign to create. The church was located in the mountains, the minister had been a strong loving force that had planted the idea that when actions come from a place of love beautiful things can grow. I thought: what could be stronger then a tree! it grows from a small seed into a beautiful thing and that was my inspiration. for hearts, earth, tree, and mountains.
